Great Day of Service 2011

This year, FaithMates served at Fair Oaks Elementary school on the Great Day of Service. You might say that we returned to our old stomping grounds – 2 years ago, we served here on the same day. We decked out their school cafeteria with an awesome mural, which is still there today!

This year we were tasked with renovating the teachers lounge. When we started, the walls were white, and there just wasn't much going on in there. Our projects with the lounge included painting the walls, reapolstering a chair, sewing new curtains, pillows and covers for storage, and decorating the room with various decorations. The lounge came out looking fabulous! Amy, Karen, and Nicole did an awesome job of planning out this project, and Amy especially deserves big props for her project management skills. But the WHOLE Faithmates group deserves a big pat on the back for pulling everything off – you all are one of the most caring groups of people. The love that you show towards everything you do definitely rubs off on everyone around you in a positive way.
